Snook Haven

There have been a lot of stories of Snook Haven’s history – Tarzan movies, killer turtles, and other legends. But sometimes, the truth can be stranger than fiction.

The “Snook’s” first modern-era occupant was a confederacy of smugglers seeking to unload contraband during Prohibition in the late 1920’s and 1930’s. Snook Haven’s location on a remote peninsula along the shores of the Myakka River, upstream from the Gulf of Mexico, made it ideal to land and ship their illegal wares to a thirsty Florida population!

Snook Haven is an idyllic place with a wonderful Restaurant. It is worth of a visit, enjoying good food and nature pure.

Need some pepperoncini ?

Need some really spicy pepperoncini for cooking ? Well, here they are.
I have used them for yesterday´s dinner.  They were really spicy and we were nearly on fire. But they are good for nutrition. They are rich in antioxidants, including but not limited to vitamin C and they are also a good source of potassium, an electrolyte essential for fluid regulation in the body – including muscle contraction and heart function.

Last summer I have been watching several swans having there bath. They splash the water around them with there wings and it looked to me like a  delicate dance . The ballett of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky - the swan lake" - came immediately  into my mind.
