On the 27th of March there was the International Polar Bear Day organized by Polar Bears International to raise awareness about the impact of global warming and reduced sea ice on polar bear populations. The day encourages people to find ways to reduce their carbon output, such as by turning down their thermostat or driving less. The day has also been used to encourage the installation of energy efficient insulation in houses.

Meeting with some friends at the " Heurigen" in Vienna for some wine tasting, I have got the idea to do a small painting of the pouring wine into a glass.
Definition of " Heuriger " -
HEURIGER -  is the name given to Eastern Austrian wine taverns in which specially licensed local winemakers serve their most recent year's wines for short periods following the growing season. They are renowned for their atmosphere of "Gemütlichkeit" shared among a throng enjoying young wine, simple food, and traditional music.
Heurig is an adjective meaning this year's in Swiss German, Austrian German, and Bavarian; thus, a Heuriger.
A version of Heuriger where apple or pear cider is served is called a Mostheuriger.

Gold Lake

From Nauders in the Tyrol  ( Ötztaler Alps ) you go with a funicular to the "Bergkastelspitze" and from there you  make a mountain tour to the four " Gold Lakes ". One of them I have painted here. These lakes are the made from ancient glaciers. If there has anyone found some gold is still a secret.

A wonderful sunset at The North Sea in Sylt, last September. When there is low tide, you can walk far into the wet areas.

Sylt  is an island in northern Germany, part of Nordfriesland district, Schleswig-Holstein, and well known for the distinctive shape of its shoreline. It belongs to the North Frisian Islands and is the largest island in North Frisia. The northernmost island of Germany, it is known for its tourist resorts, notably Westerland, Kampen and Wenningstedt-Braderup, as well as for its 40 km long sandy beach. It is frequently covered by the media in connection with its exposed situation in the North Sea and its ongoing loss of land during storm tides. Since 1927, Sylt has been connected to the mainland by the Hindenburgdamm causeway. In latter years, it has been a resort for the German jet set and tourists in search of occasional celebrity sighting.
